Services for William Roscoe Hoag will be held on Tuesday February 16, 2016 at 1:00 P.M. at the Price-McElroy Funeral Home in Mt. Victory with Pastor Dave Kiper officiating. Burial will follow at Hale Cemetery. Friends may call 2 hours prior to services.
Bill is finally home with his Savior, Jesus Christ. Born into this world on March 26, 1931, and bourne out of this world on February 11, 2016.
He is the only child of the late Floyd Page and Ola Almeda (Loucks) Hoag, he was raised in Detroit Michigan.
As a young man, after coming to know Jesus as his Lord and Savior, Bill traveled to Ft. Worth, Texas to attend Bible Baptist Seminary. While studying for the ministry, he met the love oh his life, Gloria Louise Strickland. On March 27, 1955 they became man and wife. She was called home to heaven on June 1, 2013.
Surviving are 1 daughter; Brenda (Kenneth) Carpenter of Findlay, 3 sons; David Hoag of Mt. Victory, Tim W. (Loree) Hoag of Findlay, Donald C. (Beth) Hoag of Forest, 17 grandchildren, and 25 great-grandchildren.
Bill was preceded in death by a daughter; Sandra Gayle Taylor, 1 grandson; David Allen, and 2 great grandchildren; Angel Carpenter and Riccardo James Hoag.
Bill came to Ohio in 1963 to serve his Savior through ministry. First pastoring in Upper Sandusky, then assistant pastor in Marion, interim pastor at Faith Baptist in Kenton and then finally assisting in the founding of Berea Baptist Church in Kenton. While laboring in a variety of churches through the years, Bill supported the family through employment at Rockwell International in Kenton where after 29 years of service he retired May of 1993.
Bill found great joy in telling people about the peace and hope that can only be found in Jesus. In these most recent days, his passion has been for singing songs about Heaven and Salvation in Christ.
His deep bass singing and witty approach to life's challenges will be missed.
In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to Berea Baptist Church.
