Funeral services for Thomas Jay McDougle will be held at 12:00 P.M. noon, Friday May 6, 2016 at The Price-McElroy Funeral Home in Kenton with Pastor Gregg King officiating. Burial with military rites will follow at Dola Cemetery. Friends may call 2 hours prior to services on Friday.
He died at 10:00 A.M. Monday, May 2, 2016 at his residence. He was born on October 1, 1927 in McComb to the late George and Elnora (Forney) McDougle. On December 24, 1948 he married Rudy Eleanore Sparrowe and she preceded him in death. He then married Dorothy Hogan (Wexel) on November 17, 1999 and she survives in Dunkirk.
Also surviving are 3 daughters; Penny (Gary) Cavinee of Forest, Carol Snyder of Bellefontaine, Shirley McDougle of Sidney, 2 sons; Randy (Diane) McDougle of Ridgeway, Mike (Laura) McDougle of Forest, 13 grandchildren; Eric Gossard, Jami (David) Dellifield, Tony (Vicki) Dotson, Shane McDougle, Kallie Gossard, Brian (Nichole) Cavinee, Thomas Dotson, Aaron (Lyndsey) McDougle, Blake (Jessica) Cavinee, Jessica (Jason) Fowler, Jay McDougle, Tyler Bruns, Trey Bruns, 28 great grandchildren, 1 great-great child and numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by 1 daughter; Kathie McDougle Thompson, 1 sons; Danny McDougle, 1 infant grandchild; Liza Gossard, 1 infant great grandchild, 7 siblings; Ralph Eugene, Serge Glen, Harold Edwin, Dorothy Eva Elnora, Virgil Minor, Reva Mae, and Iva Elvina Edith.
Jay was a 1945 graduate of McComb High School, and served in the US Navy from 1945 to 1948 during WWII on the USS Turner. He was awarded the American Area Campaign Medal. After the military, Jay worked for Ford in Lima from which he retired. He loved to farm, horses and football.
