Vernon D. Dirmeyer 93
of Dunkirk
Vernon D. Dirmeyer passed away on Saturday, November 1, 2025, at the Bridge Hospice Care Center in Findlay. He was born on April 14, 1932, at his family's home in Dola to the late Andrew Dirmeyer Sr. and Bernice (Harris) Dirmeyer. On March 27, 1954, he married Doris Nichols, and she survives in Dunkirk.
Also surviving are a son, Dale (Kathy) Dirmeyer of Dunkirk, a brother, Roger (Elaine) Dirmeyer of Dola, 3 grandchildren, Nathan (Ginger) Dirmeyer, Yvette (Brad) Clark, Michelle (Doug) Smith, 11 great-grandchildren, 7 great-great-grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by 2 brothers, Dallas Dirmeyer, Andrew Dirmeyer Jr., a sister, Marian Kissling, and a great-granddaughter, Holly.
Vernon was a U.S. Army Veteran. After his service he worked and retired after 34 years, as a welder for United Aircraft in Forest. He was a member of the Assembly of God Church in Dunkirk.
Vernon was an avid outdoorsman. He loved to bow hunt, fish and just be out in the woods. He especially enjoyed his trip to Canada to deer hunt with the Dola Bunch for the last 50 plus years.
Funeral services for Vernon will be private at his request. Burial will take place at Dola Cemetery. The Price-McElroy Funeral Home in Kenton is assisting the family with arrangements.
Memorial donations in Vernon's honor may be made to Gideons International to purchase bibles or Samaritan's Purse.
