Funeral services for Shirley Louise Combs will be held at 1:00 pm on Friday, June 16, 2023, at the Price McElroy Funeral Home in Kenton, with Pastor Greg Kah officiating. Burial will follow at Dunkirk Cemetery. Family and friends may call from 11:00 until time of services on Friday.
Shirley passed away on June 12, 2023, at Bridge Hospice Care Center in Findlay. She was born on April 15,1940 in Garner, KY to the late Kelly and Ethel (Watts) Combs.
Surviving are her children: Sharon (Steve Benson) Baxley of Kenton, Donald "Duck" (Karen) Combs of Wiley Fork, KY, Pamela (Douglas) Allen of Gloucester, VA, Jessica (Marty) Burns of Nashville, TN, and Barbara Schreckengost of Kenton. Also surviving are her sister, Edith (Don) Schick, brothers: Orville "Ray" Combs, French Combs, and Robert (Paula) Combs, 9 grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by son-in-law; Lonnie Shreckengost, siblings: Edwin Combs, Walter Combs, Carlos Combs, and Judy Hensley, and 1 grandson: Dale Baxley.
Shirley was a member of Calvary Baptist Church in Big Branch, KY. She enjoyed going for rides, going out to eat, collecting angels, gardening, and cooking. She loved her children dearly and always kept in contact with them and she loved spending time with grandchildren.
Memorial donations in Shirley's honor may be made to Bridge Home Health and Hospice.
