Sherry Pees (Hauenstein), 84, of Dola passed away on December 25, 2025.
Sherry was born on April 3, 1941, in Bluffton, Ohio to the late Cloyce and Emily (Martin) Hauenstein.
She was a graduate of Ohio Northern University. Post graduation, she taught at Ada High School until she made the
decision to stay at home to raise her three children. During her free time, Sherry enjoyed
gardening, interior design, genealogy, antiquing and helping out on the farm.
She was also a published author of two books: Authenticating a Country Dwelling and A Primer for a Country
Dwelling. She was a member of the Hardin County Historical Society and Bridgeport Church.
Surviving is her husband, Kenneth, of 62 years. She also has three surviving children - Douglas
and Travis both from Dola and Paige (Bill) Curlis who resides in Monroe, Ohio. Colton and
Easton Curlis are her two grandchildren who also reside in Monroe.
Surviving sister Joyce (Stu) Stearns resides in Bowling Green, Ohio and brother Wynn (Colene)
Hauenstein who resides is Ada, Ohio.
The family will be having a private ceremony. The Price-McElroy Funeral Home in Kenton is assisting the family with arrangements.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Hardin County Historical Society or Bridgeport
Church.
