Saundra "Sandy" (Wells-Stalnaker) Chamberlain 79
of Kenton
It is with profound sorrow that the family of Saundra "Sandy'' (Wells-Stalnaker) Chamberlain announces her passing. She passed away on Tuesday, December 24, 2024, at her residence in Kenton. She was born on February 10, 1945, in Parkersburg, West Virginia.
Sandy was a devoted mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and sister, who touched the hearts of all who knew her. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Clarence Randall "Randy'' Chamberlain, her son, Rodney Chamberlain, a daughter-in-law, Jodi Chamberlain, and her parents, James Wells and Betty Treen. She was also reunited with her grandmothers and grandfathers, Holbert and Mary Stalnaker, Samp and Edith Wells, as well as four great-grandchildren.
Sandy is survived by her children: Tony Chamberlain, Melinda (Lee) Lutz, Rhonda Chamberlain, Richard Chamberlain, her grandchildren, Jessica, Marcus, Samantha, Emily, Tyler, Abbygal, Jon, Brandon, Kyle, Kendra, Sabrina, her great-grandchildren, Maddox, Indie, Connor, Eloise, Sawyer, Sylas, Alicent, Laikyn, Slade, and her brother, Ronald Wells. Sandy's children and grandchildren were a great joy in her life and her legacy continues through them.
Sandy's love for her family was unmatched. She was known for her nurturing spirit and unwavering devotion as a mother and grandmother. Her favorite song, "You Are My Sunshine", was often sung with warmth and affection to her grandchildren, reminding them of her love every chance she had.
Born and raised in West Virginia, Sandy developed a passion for drawing, sewing, and cooking at a young age. After moving to Ohio, she married and settled in Kenton, where she raised her family with love. In the 1980's, she and her husband opened a retail and wholesale auction house where she was able to meet people in the community, making lifelong friends and supporting local businesses. Another big part of Sandy's life was the Women of the Moose. Sandy held several officer chairs and helped organize many fundraisers for local charities.
Her kindness, ornery spirit, laughter, and generosity will be greatly missed by all who had the honor of knowing her. Sandy's legacy of love and devotion will continue to live on in the hearts of her family and friends.
Funeral services for Sandy will be held at 1:00 P.M. on Monday, December 30, 2024, at The Price-McElroy Funeral Home in Kenton. Burial will follow at Grove Cemetery. Friends and family may visit 2 hours prior to services at the funeral home.
