Ronald R. Shaffer

Ronald R. Shaffer, age 77, of Kenton passed away on Tuesday, May 26, 2026. He was born on January 2, 1949, in Kenton, to the late Verland and Anna (Sloan) Shaffer.

Ron is survived by his wife, Debra (Ommert) Shaffer, their daughter, Amber Shaffer of Kenton, mother-in-law, Louella Jean Pich, sister and brother-in-law, Brenda and Mark Wilson, and an aunt, Phyllis Vermillion of Kenton. 

He was preceded in death by an aunt, Hazel Shaffer, father-in-law, Fred Pich, and brother-in-law, Brent Ommert.

Ron graduated from Kenton Senior High School in the class of 1969. He served in the U.S. Army at Fort Huachuca, Arizona. He retired after 33 years from ODOT (Ohio Department of Transportation) in Hardin County as County Manager and served 8 years as Safety Service Director for the City of Kenton. 

It was Ron's wish to be cremated. The Price-McElroy Funeral Home in Kenton is assisting the family with arrangements.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations in Ron's honor may be made to HARCO Industries.
