of Kenton
A graveside service for Robert Earl Ward will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Monday, July 18, 2022 at the Grove Cemetery Committal Building in Kenton with Pastor David Robertson officiating. The Price-McElroy Funeral Home in Kenton is assisting the family with arrangements.
Robert died on Sunday, July 10, 2022 at the Marion General Hospital. He was born on July 1, 1933 in Hepburn to the late David and Margaret (Stober) Ward. On November 5, 1953 he married Josephine Hatch and she survives in Kenton.
Also surviving are a son; David Ward of Harrod, a sister; Katherine Clifford of New York, 2 grandchildren; David (Dawn) Ward II, Christina Howe, 5 great-grandchildren; Aidan Gatchell, Alexander Gatchell, Amya Francis, Riley Francis, Arya Ward, and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by a daughter; Karen Osburn, 4 brothers; David Ward, Edward Ward, Harold Ward, Eugene Ward, and a sister; Rose McClure.
Robert was a proud U.S. Army Veteran.
He worked for Durez for over 30 years before retiring. He was a member of the Faith Baptist Church of Kenton and the Amvets Post 1994 in Kenton.
In his younger years, Robert enjoyed camping , and after he retired he enjoyed having coffee with his friends every morning. Most of all, Robert enjoyed spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations in Robert's honor may be made to Faith Baptist Church of Kenton.
