There will be no services for Richard "Rick" Kemmere. It was his wish to be cremated. The Price-McElroy Funeral Home in Kenton is assisting the family with arrangements.

Rick passed away on Friday, September 1, 2023 at the Springfield Regional Medical Center in Springfield, Ohio. He was born on December 26, 1960 in Kenton to the late Norman and Marie (Claphan) Kemmere.

Surviving are his siblings; Shirley Cole of Kenton, Diane Ruhlen of Indiana, Joyce (Roger) Casper of Dola, a granddaughter; Adrianna Miller, a sister-in-law; Bev Kemmere and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by a brother; Robert Kemmere.

Rick was a 1979 graduate of Kenton High School. He was a Kenton City Police Officer before moving on to be a correctional officer at the Marion County Juvenile Detention Center. He also volunteered for BKP Ambulance Services.

Rick enjoyed taking his granddaughter fishing and to the movies. In his free time, he enjoyed woodworking and his dogs.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the funeral home in care of the family.
