A celebration of life for Reginald L. "Reggie" Slack will be held at a later date. The Price McElroy Funeral Home in Kenton is assisting the family with arrangements.
He died on Sunday, May 10, 2020 at the Marion General Hospital. He was born on August 30, 1941 in Kenton to the late Thomas Warner and Marguerite (Lay) Slack. On December 31, 1960 he married Brenda Park and she preceded him in death on October 28, 2016.
Surviving are a daughter Lori Mabrey of Kenton, a son; Rick Slack of Kenton, a brother; Jeff (Bobbie) Slack of Forest, 2 grandchildren; Jessie (Luke) Lowery, Brandon Slack and 2 great-grandsons; Jason and Liam Lowery.
He was preceded in death by a son in law; Jon Mabrey.
Reggie was a 1959 graudate of Mt. Victory High School. 
He and his brother ran Slack's Body Shop in Kenton for a number of years. He then joined the Kenton Police Department, where he became chief for 6 years before his retirement.
Reggie was involved in a number of various local organizations. He is a past Exalted Ruler of the Kenton Elks, a former member of the Kenton Rotary as well as a volunteer for Not By Choice.
He enjoyed working in and on his shop, working on cars and building a puzzle wall made out of various pieces of wood.
Reggie also loved collecting and shooting guns. He also became a lifetime member of the NRA. 
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Not By Choice.
