Funeral services for Peggy D. Herron will be held at 1:00 P.M. on Wednesday, May 27, 2026, at the Price-McElroy Funeral Home in Kenton, with Pastor Gregg King officiating. Burial will follow at Fairview Belle Center Cemetery. Friends and family may visit at the funeral home two hours prior to the service. The family has asked that everyone dress casually for services.
Peggy passed away on Friday, May 22, 2026, at her residence. She was born on March 6, 1950, in Bowling Green, Ohio, to the late Woodrow and Betty (Scullin) Retterer.
She is survived by her son, Jeff (Amy) Herron; her daughter, Jill (Chad) Cowgill; grandchildren, Joshua (Laura) Herron, Kyle (Megan) Herron, Jacob (Bailey) Herron, Brandt (Cory) Cowgill, Taylor (Collin), and Gracey; and great-grandchildren; Aubralyn, Payton, Stella Ann, Scarlett, Brantley, Liam, Hadley, Layla, Oaklynn, Emberlynn, Asher, Letty, and Tilly. She is also survived by her sisters, Shirley (Jim) Atwater, Sharon Appleman, and Toni (Jerry) Pfister.
Peggy was preceded in death by her daughter, Jennifer; great-grandson, Charlie Blue; brothers, Ron, Gary, Terry, and Rick Retterer; an infant brother; her sister, Sandie Middleton; and her lifelong companion, Sonny Amsler.
A 1968 graduate of Ridgemont High School, Peggy was a past president of the Kenton Women of the Moose Chapter 428, BMRT in Logan County, and Logan County EMS.
Memorial donations in Peggy's honor may be made to Nationwide Children's Hospital.
