Peggy Creamer Obituary

Peggy Lou Creamer, cherished mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and friend, passed away peacefully surrounded by her family on July 20, 2024. Born on September 23, 1946, Peggy lived a life full of love, laughter, and countless treasured memories.

Peggy is survived by her three devoted daughters, Jennifer (Mike) Grimes, Heather (Randall) Oliver, and Stephenie (Shane) Jordan. She leaves behind a legacy through her 9 grandchildren: Michaela (Micah) Heilman, Megan (Robert) Bevis, Raechel (Justin) Noble, Kuert Lautenschlager, Jennifer (Jadon) Miller, Rodd Jordan, Lindsay (Les) Rubin, Derrick (Kyle) Oliver-Neises, and Leslie Oliver. Peggy was also blessed with 16 great-grandchildren: Alina, Cohen, Jackson, Presleigh, Bennett, Grant, Britton, Jameson, Cooper, Lincoln, Kendyl, Kaysen, Gavin, Lillian, Harper, and Liam. She is also survived by her sister Anna Marie Wright, sister-in-law Peg Fields, and stepson Shaun Creamer.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Paul and Viola “Pauline” Fields, her siblings Mildred Beatty, Raymond Fields, Rosemary Romine, and Floyd Fields, by her husband, Steven Creamer and her son-in-law, Rodd Lautenschlager.

Peggy married Rodney Britton in 1965, and together they had three daughters before divorcing in 1987.

After 13 years of dedicated service, Peggy retired from Honda. Not one to stay idle, she began working at the Mt. Victory Mini-Mart, where she met and fell in love with Steven Creamer. They were married in 2008.

Peggy had a passion for bargain shopping and took immense pride in her yard. She enjoyed refinishing and collecting antiques, sharing meals with family and friends, and never missed an opportunity for an outing. She was renowned for her soothing lullabies, often voted the best at rocking babies to sleep, a tradition lovingly continued by her grandchildren for their own children. Known as "Granny" to her grandchildren and great-grandchildren and "Peg Peg" to her sons-in-law, Peggy's warmth and kindness were felt by all who knew her.

Her family traditions included making homemade fudge to celebrate accomplishments and gifting special jewelry for significant events. She taught her daughters and grandchildren how to fish and spot a good deal while shopping, and her luck at the casino was legendary.

Peggy's life was a testament to love, family, and resilience. Her spirit will live on in the hearts of those who knew and loved her.

A memorial service to celebrate Peggy's life will be held at the Price-McElroy Funeral Home in Mount Victory, Wednesday, July 24th at 1:00pm. Visitation will be prior to the service from 11-1.

Memorial donations in Peggy's honor may be made to the Ridgemont Public Library.
