A graveside service for Ora Lee (Barnett) Messenger will be held at 3:00 P.M. on Monday, October 24, 2022 at the Dunkirk Cemetery in Dunkirk, Ohio with Rev. Jonathan Hanover officiating. Family and friends may visit from 12:00 P.M. to 2:00 P.M. on Monday, October 24, 2022 at The Price-McElroy Funeral Home in Kenton.
Ora passed away on Thursday, October 13, 2022 at Sugar Fork Crossing in Anderson, Indiana. She was born on October 14, 1932 in Cary, Ohio to the late Grover and Molly (Prater) Barnett. On April 4, 1951 she married Harold Messenger and he preceded her in death on July 22, 2004. 
Surviving are a son; Lyle (Jane) Messenger, 2 daughters; Peggy Diana (Kerry) Wies, Julie Lynn (Joel) Leviner, a son-in-law; Tim Heckard, 4 grandchildren; Sarah (Chris) Neggers, Alexandra (Andrew) Golighty, Pierce (Winston) Hathaway, Ted, Heckard, 3 great-grandchildren; Diana, Emerson, Fielding, and numerous nieces and nephews. 
She was preceded in death by a daughter; Jill Renee Heckard, 2 sisters; Donna Mae (Walter) Powers, Leatha Jean (Frank) Price, and 2 brothers; Boone Daniel Barnett, and Orville Barnett.
Ora was a homemaker. She was an avid artist who loved to paint. She also loved to visit and spend time with her family and friends. 
Memorial donations in Ora's honor may be made to the charity of the donor's choice.
