Funeral services for Nancy Jo Barrett will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Friday, December 01, 2023 at the Price-McElroy Funeral Home in Kenton. Friends and family may visit from 5:00 P.M. to 7:00 P.M. on Thursday, November 30, 2023 at the funeral home. Burial at Grove Cemetery will take place at a later date.

Nancy passed away on November 26, 2023 at the James Cancer Center in Columbus. She was born on August 03, 1965 in Columbus, Ohio to the late John R. and Nancy R. (McManis) Couch. She married Richard Barrett on August 10, 1993 and he preceded her in death on September 17, 2019.

Surviving are her daughter, Brandi (Austin Bynum) Barrett of Mansfield, Ohio, 2 sons; Christopher (Rebekah) Crowell of Alliance, Ohio, William (Faith Jones) Barrett of Kenton, a sister, Roberta Couch of Greenville, 2 brothers; John (Sandy) Couch II of Degraff, James (Trish) Couch of Arcanum, 4 grandchildren; Kael, Enoch, Tallon, Hartley, her dog; Hayes Barrett and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by a sister, Rebecca Couch.

Nancy was a Fiscal Officer for Goshen Township for many years and she and Richard were also involved with the Farm Bureau.

She was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Kenton. 

Nancy was a lover and a fighter. She believed her calling in life was to be a mother. In addition to her biological children, she was a bonus mom to her children's friends as well. Friends and family enjoyed her bubbly, high-spirited personality, lovingly termed by Richard as "rainbows and unicorns". It may have been hard for outsiders to understand how Nancy continued to exude such joy through her trials and tribulations, but she believed the Lord had a plan for her. 

Memorial contributions in Nancy's honor may be made to the funeral home in care of the family.
