Melenee (Kerns) Johnson, age 75, passed away on Tuesday, January 21, 2025, at the Kenton Nursing and Rehab Center. She was born on August 24, 1949, in Columbus, Ohio to the late Marilyn (Blue) Oborn. She was also preceded in death by 2 stepfathers, Robert P. Kerns and Weston L. Oborn.

She married Boyd Crapnell with whom she had two daughters, and they later divorced. She then married Ed Rachwig who preceded her in death. Melenee then married John Johnson on November 26, 2009, in LaPorte, Texas and he survives in Kenton. 

Melenee is survived by her husband John and family, her daughters, Brenda Crapnell and Beckie (John) Thomas and family, her grandchildren, Brandon (Ashalynn) Mosely, Breanne, several great-grandchildren, her brother, Robert M. (Laura) Kerns, a sister, Jane (Jeff) Derringer and many nieces, nephews, and cousins. 

Melenee worked as a nurse's aide for many years. In her free time, Melenee enjoyed camping and fishing.

A private family service will be held at a later date. The Price-McElroy Funeral Home in Kenton is assisting the family with arrangements. 

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations in Melenee's honor may be made to Not By Choice.
