A memorial service for Matthew Rex Hanna will be held at 12:00 pm on Friday, July 20, 2018 at St. John's Evangelical Church with Rev. Scott Johnson officiating. Friends may call from 10:00 until time of services on Friday. 

He died at 4:29 pm Friday, July 13, 2018 at Kettering Medical Center in Kettering, Ohio. He was born on March 25, 1965 in Kenton to Mark E. Hanna and Joyce (Blumenschine) Cannarozzi.

He is survived by his mother and step-father, Joyce (Bob) Cannarozzi of Centerville; brother, Dane M. (Kelley Yule) Hanna of Kenton; sister, Marcy J. (Chris) Herman of Kettering, their children, William Christopher, Dane Matthew, Jack Henry, and Marcus Robert; and step-mother Brenda Hanna of Kenton. He is also survived by step-brothers, Matt (Trichia) Clum of Norwalk, their children, Billy, Vinny, and Cami; and Billy (Lynn) Cannarozzi of Kettering, their children, Cara, and Corine; and step-sister Lea (Matt) Loree of Kettering and their children, Michael and Alex.

He was preceded in death by his father Mark E. Hanna.

Matt was a 1983 graduate of Kenton Senior High School, a 1987 graduate of The Ohio State University, and taught Language Arts and Social Studies at Dayton Public Schools.

He loved being an Uncle, collecting comic books and trading cards. He enjoyed life, music, building models, guns, and reading. He was very artistic and a real history buff.

Price-McElroy Funeral Home in Kenton is handling arrangements.

In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the Hardin County Community Foundation.
