Marilyn "Pete" McCalla, age 88, of Richwood, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, January 14, 2026, at The Gables of Marysville.
She was born on February 18, 1937, in Marion, Ohio, to the late Robert Huston and Betty (Griffiths) Post. On July 1, 1953, she married Clarence "Clancy" McMahon, they shared 5 children and later divorced. She then married Henry V. McCalla, who preceded her in death on January 12, 1999.
Pete is survived by three daughters: Bev Kandel, Debra Brown, and Connie (Matt) Haller; one son, Bud (Paula) McMahon; grandchildren: Brandi, Brent, Derek, Kaylee, Cassie, Kami, Tyler, Gabe, Randi Jo, John, Katie, Adam, and Justin; 28 great-grandchildren; 12 great-great-grandchildren; and special friends, Jenny Dailey and Mac Manville.
She was preceded in death by her daughter, Lori Skeens; a grandson, Kory Keigley; and two brothers, Jerry and Dick Austin.
Throughout her career, Pete worked for Double Z Stables caring for standardbred racehorses. She later served as an activity's coordinator for the Arbors of London and the Richwood Civic Center.
In her free time, she enjoyed sewing, making rag quilts, cooking, baking, and playing Bingo and Yahtzee. She especially loved playing cards with Mac, who visited her daily and brought her ice cream.
A private celebration of life will be held at a later date. The Price-McElroy Funeral Home in Kenton is assisting the family with arrangements.
Memorial donations in Pete's name may be made to the Richwood Civic Center. Online condolences may be expressed at pricefh.net.
