Funeral services for Larry D. Smith will be held on Saturday, February 10, 2024, at 10:00 A.M. at the Price-McElroy Funeral Home in Kenton with Pastor Steve Hess officiating. Burial will follow at Grove Cemetery. Friends and family may visit on Friday, February 9, 2024, from 4:00 P.M. to 7:00 P.M. at the funeral home.
Larry passed away on Saturday, February 3, 2024, at the Marion General Hospital. He was born on November 14, 1946, in Kenton to the late Noel and Virigina (Johnson) Smith. He married Sandy Richardson, and she preceded him in death.
Surviving is a son, Ed (Deb) Smith of Kenton, sisters, Peggy (Dan) Gibbs of Bellefontaine, Cathy (Rick) Newland of Kenton, brothers, Randy (Jean) Smith of Spokane, Washington, Mike Smith of Kenton, 4 grandchildren, 11 great grandchildren, 2 great-great grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by a son, Larry Smith and brothers, Tim and Steve Smith.
Larry was a Kenton High School graduate.
He had worked at Scioto Sign for over 20 years where he retired from. He was a member of the Christian Missionary Alliance Church in Kenton.
Larry enjoyed fishing and camping. His true passion was trains. He would go to the shows and even had his own train set with which he built his own landscaping for his trains.
Memorial contributions may be made in Larry's honor to the Christian Missionary Alliance Church in Kenton.
