Kay Eileen (Erwin) Stauffer

Kay Eileen (Erwin) Stauffer, 78, passed away on Wednesday, November 24, 2021, at her home with her husband and daughters by her side.  

Kay was born on March 20,1943 at the San Antonio Hospital in Kenton to Daniel and Eileen (Adkins) Erwin. Kay was a lifelong resident of Kenton and a 1961 graduate of Kenton Senior High School. 

In April 1962, Kay married Gary Stauffer, who survives her. Kay and Gary were married shortly after graduating high school and began to grow the family they were most proud of over the last 60 years. They were blessed with three daughters: Jolene (Kevin) Born, Chris (Wes) Davis, and Gina (Ryan) Rogers. In addition to their daughters, Kay was blessed to have eight grandchildren: Joel (Natasha) Kieffer; Weston Kieffer; Miles (Hannah) Keiffer; Lauryn, Lily and Brock Davis; Gracen and Carly Rogers; along with ten great grandchildren. Also surviving is a brother, Dan Erwin; sisters-in-law Jan Stauffer and Shirley Stauffer; a special cousin Pat LaCourse; rescue dog Buddy; as well as numerous nieces and nephews. Kay was preceded in death by both her parents, a granddaughter, Lily, and son-in-law, Wes.

 Kay was an avid gardener and was awarded the Hardin County Beautification Award for her glorious lilies, day lilies, and numerous flower varieties. Kay could not only be found working in her flower gardens, but in the kitchen baking. She was most known for her sugar cookies and Hardin County Fair Blue-Ribbon Award-winning apple pie. Kay was most strong in her faith and attended the Abundant Life Assembly of God Church. During her recent hospital and rehabilitation stays, Kay shared her love of God with all those whom she encountered. She would share in prayer and song with those who wished to rejoice in the “Word” with her. Those who knew Kay will always remember how she always made them feel loved with the sharing of her beautiful smile, sweet laugh and her telling them “I love you!”.

Family and friends are invited to join the family for visitation from 4:00 P.M. to 7:00 P.M. on Thursday, December 2, 2021 at the Abundant Life Assembly of God Church in Kenton. A celebration of life will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Friday, December 3, 2021 at the church. Graveside services will be held immediately after the ceremony at the Grove Cemetery.     

In lieu of flowers the family requests that donations be made to the Abundant Life Assembly of God Church or Universal Hospice Care (Bellefontaine).
