Services for Karen Hites will be private. Burial will take place at Grove Cemetery in Kenton at a later date. The Price-McElroy Funeral Home in Kenton is assisting the family with arrangements.
Karen passed away on Thursday, September 14, 2023, at her residence. She was born in Hardin County to the late Robert and Helen (Johnson) Newland. On May 29, 1964, she married Michael E. Hites, and he preceded her in death on September 7, 2004.
Surviving are her daughters; Tina (Steven) Flowers, Lisa (Glen) Ratliff, 2 sisters; Patricia Boday of Lima, Helen ``Junie" (Tom) Kissell of St. Augenstein, FLA, a sister-in-law; Barbara Newland of Big Springs, 6 grandchildren; Ian Ratliff, Jessica (Chad) Burton, Michael (Hanna) Hites, Anthony (Kylie Baker), Hannah Flowers, Nolon Flowers, 7 great-grandchildren; Willow Ratliff, Hendrix Ratliff, Keegan Burton, Kierston Burton, Jace Burton, Hadleigh Hites, and Myles Hites.
She was preceded in death by a son; Michael R. Hites, a brother; Robert "Bucky" Newland, a sister; Brenda Bushnell, and a grandson; Eric Tillman.
Karen spent her life as a homemaker and loved spending time with her family and her dog, Zoey.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations in Karen's honor may be made to Universal Hospice.
