John Philip "Phil" Pyers 80
of Raymond
A public graveside service for Phil Pyers will be held at 1:00 P.M. on Tuesday, April 28, 2020 at York Cemetery with Jeff Webb officiating. A 1-hour visitation for family and close friends will be held at The Price-McElroy Funeral Home in Mt. Victory starting at 11:00 A.M. on Tuesday.
He died on Thursday, April 23, 2020 at his residence. He was born on September 12, 1939 in Logan County to the late Leroy and Audrey (Wyeth) Pyers.
Surviving are a son; Tony (Deb) Pyers of Richwood, 2 grandchildren; Jared Pyers of Richwood, Ashley (Steve) McKinney of Plain City and 2 great-grandchildren; Karter and Ellie McKinney.
Phil was a Byhalia High School graduate. He worked as a blacksmith and farrier for over 20 years. He then was employed and retired from Honda in 2000 after 20 plus years.
Phil was a member of the Indian Lake Moose where he attended many fish fry's and would go boating. Phil was also an avid North Union Sports fan. He rarely missed a game, and he especially enjoyed following the girls basketball teams. He also enjoyed hunting and going to cutting and pinning horse competitions in his younger years. The family of Phil would also like to thank Deb and Teirra Brady for helping care for Phil and loving him as family.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the York Center United Methodist Church.
