A celebration of life for Jerry Wayne Whitaker will be held at a later date. It was his wish to be cremated. The Price-McElroy Funeral Home in Kenton is assisting the family with arrangements.

Jerry passed away on Thursday, May 11, 2023 at the Bridge Hospice Care Center in Findlay. He was born on June 6, 1941 in Homer, Michigan to the late Hayden Whitaker and Anna (House) Rizer.

Surviving are his significant other; Brenda Whitaker, 1 son; Gary Gene Whitaker of Kenton, a sister; Sharon (Rex) Rogers of Kenton, 2 grandchildren; Jerrika Whitaker, Skylar Lettieri, and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by a son; J.J. Whitaker and 2 brothers; Jack and Leroy Whitaker.

Jerry was a proud U.S. Army Veteran. He drove truck for many years. He was a former member of the Amvets Post 1994 in Kenton and current member of the Kenton Eagles.

Jerry was an avid drag racer, who loved to take his car drag racing as well as watch as many races as he could. He enjoyed mowing his yard, going camping, fishing and spending time with his close friends and family.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the funeral home in care of the family.
