Janice died on Friday, May 21, 2021 at Vancrest of Ada. She was born on October 19, 1921 in West Mansfield to the late Wade and Opal (Kerns) Tallman. She married Lloyd Holland Dickinson in 1939 and they shared many blessings in their lives together until his death in 2011.
Janice leaved behind daughters; Julie (Bill) Pfeiffer of Kenton, Shauna (Tim) Good of London, son; Kyle (Margaret) Dickinson of Urbana, grandchildren; Bill (Beverly) Pfeiffer and their daughter; Jacqueline; Suzanne Pfeiffer and her children; Isabella and Bill; Ashley (Brian) Wheeler and their children, Crew, Georgianna, and Cashton; Shad (Andrea) Good and their children, Alexandra and Quinn; Josh (Leah) Dickinson and their son, Kasper; Sarah (Steve) Neff and their daughters; Grace, Emily, and Lucy; Shaun (Carrie) Creamer and their children, Shaye and Seth, sisters; Judi Brown and Jeanne Jenkins and many beloved nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by an infant son; Lynn T. Dickinson and a daughter; Sherry Dickinson Creamer, brothers; Garland Tallman, Varon Tallman, Garth Tallman, and a sister; Joanne Beatley.
Janice was an honor graduate of Ridgemont High School class of 1939 and was a loyal member of 82 years of the Ridgeway-Ridgemont Alumni Association. She and Lloyd were ardent supporters of the school and of the Ridgeway and Mt. Victory communities. Together they founded an all girls livestock 4-H club and were advisors for 25 years. She was a charter member of the local Mother's Club branch of Ohio Child Conservation League and a long standing member of Painter Creek Grange. Janice was a member of Mt. victory Church of Christ and a beloved Children's Sunday School and Bible School teacher.
Always an avid reader, she fostered that love of reading in her children. Music was a special joy. She loved to sing and enjoyed any kind of concert or musical entertainment.
She and Lloyd were most happy on their little farm, Chilli Hills, with their registered flock of sheep in their "Little Red House" on the hill.
Janice was employed at the Mt. Victory State Bank, and prior to that she was a manager at the Plaza Inn.
She was extremely proud of her family, and she was loved and admired by her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. Janice was a woman of strength and endless talents. She believed in her children's talents and abilities and she encouraged them to work hard and always give their best. She has touched so many lives and will be missed by all who knew her. Her children will remember her by the words she instilled in them, the golden rule: "Do unto others as you , would have them do unto you!"
In honor of her memory and in lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Ridgemont Public Library for purchase of large print of audio books, or to the donors choice.
Online condolences may be expressed at pricefh.net.
