A graveside service for James H. "Jim" Harvey will be held at 1:00 P.M. on Tuesday, August 16, 2022 at The Grove Cemetery Committal building in Kenton. The Price-McElroy Funeral Home in Kenton is assisting the family with arrangements. 
Jim passed away on Sunday, July 17, 2022 at his residence. He was born in Kenton on November 4, 1930 to the late Louis A. Harvey and the late Madeline (Hart) Harvey Kohler. He married Barbara Sue Robinson on September 16, 1956 and she preceded him in death on July 11, 2015.
Jim is survived by his son, Bradley E. Harvey of Kenton; granddaughters: Amanda (Humberto Varela Arnoso) Harvey of Fontefria, Amoeiro, Spain and Jennifer Harvey of Kenton; grandsons: Ryan (Morgan) Harvey and Dana Harvey, both of Kenton; great grandchildren: Victor Varela Harvey and Catalina Varela Harvey, both of Fontefria; nieces: Michelle Bogosian of Visalia, CA, Stacey Harvey-Davis of Bakersfield, CA; nephews: Mike Harvey and Mark Harvey of Tulare, CA, Greg Harvey of Alvarado, TX, Frederick (Erick) Flores of Federal Way, WA, and Stephen (Angie) Robinson of Lafayette, OH; sisters-in-law: Judy Harvey of Potosi, TX, Linda Robinson-Williams of Lafayette, OH and Jene Ann Wood of Kenton.
Not to be forgotten is his beloved King Charles Spaniel, Babe, who was snuggled next to him when he passed.
In addition to his wife, Sue, he was preceded in death by his daughter, Laurie E. Harvey; brothers: Joe Harvey and Tom Harvey; nephew David Harvey and step-father Frank Kohler.
Jim was a 1948 graduate of Kenton High School and remained close with many classmates over the years, having annual reunions through 2019. Following graduation, he attended Ashland College for 2 years prior to enlisting in the U.S. Air Force, serving during the Korean Conflict. Following his military service, he was employed by Burroughs Corp. before starting a typewriter and adding machine repair service operated out of the basement of A.E. Roby Co. He joined First National Bank of Kenton (later Huntington Bank) from the mid-1960s until 1982 when he took a short break to run Harvey's Boot Shop with his son. He then joined Commercial Savings Bank of Upper Sandusky, where he remained until retirement in 1992.
Jim loved to fish, work in his flower beds, and build birdhouses and clocks. He was also devoted to his pets.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Hardin County Humane Society or an organization of the donor's choice.
