There will be no services for Gordon Ira Obenour at this time. It was his wish to be cremated. The Price-McElroy Funeral Home in Kenton is assisting the family with arrangements.

Gordon passed away on Sunday, May 21, 2023 at his residence in Dunkirk. He was born on November 30, 1941 at home in Dola to the late Wilson and Ruth (Croy) Obenour. On June 24, 1962 he married his wife of 60 years, Marsha Elaine Wykes and she survives.

Also surviving are his children; Valerie Obenour, Doug (Vicky) Obenour, Nancy (Jere) Souder, a granddaughter; Hannah Souder, 3 nephews; Keith (Tina) Obenour, Brian (Sherri) Obenour, Mark (JoJo) Obenour, 2 step-granddaughters; Beth Vanderkooi, Libby (Austin) Javurek, 2 step grandsons; Jacob and Aiden Javurek and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his brother and sister-in-law, Paul and Janet Obenour.

Gordon graduated from Hardin Northern High School in 1959. He retired from International Paper, and he farmed his whole life.

In his free time, Gordon enjoyed going to Hardin Northern's football games and any activity his granddaughter was involved in. He was also a member of the Chad Mays Horseshoe Club.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the VAD Department of OSU Ross Heart Hospital in Columbus, or the Chad Mays Horseshoe Club.
