Forrest E. McCune, 95

of Kenton

Forrest E. McCune passed away peacefully at his home early Sunday morning, November 27, 2022. He was born May 4, 1927 in Kenton to Foster and Hazel (Kanel) McCune. He married Patti A. Anderson on May 4, 1947, and she preceded him in death on August 26, 2014. They were married for 67 years. 

He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, his sister, Marie (Mil) Sullivan, and 3 brothers, Dale McCune, Paul (Millie) McCune and Norman McCune. 

He is survived by his 5 children: Terri Lenerz of Moss Beach, CA, Robynn McCune of Kenton, Cindee (Ron) Kratzenberg of Huntsville, Ohio, Joe (RaeAnn) McCune of Jonesboro, TN, and Don McCune of Santa Marta, Columbia, SA; 9 grandchildren: JJ Kratzenberg, Lindsay (Kratzenberg) Waller, Dan Lenerz, Mike Lenerz, Soraya (Greg) Mullon, Brando McCune, Shanda McCune, Amber McCune, and Nick McCune; 3 step-grandchildren: Steve (Lisa) Kratzenberg, Troy (Tesa) Kratzenberg, and Karyn (John) Price; 15 great-grandchildren, 11 great-great grandchildren, numerous nieces, nephews, and his sister-in-law, Betty McCune.

Forrest was a farmer and a mail-carrier in Kenton for 25 years. He was a life-long member of the First Reformed Church in Kenton. He and his wife participated in their famous annual Easter Egg fundraiser. Over the years, he held many positions in the church.

He was a member of the Kenton Elks #157, a 55-year member of the National Association of Letter Carriers, and Greenwood Grange #245. He was an honored volunteer of the Red Cross, and donated over 26gallons of blood during his lifetime. He also volunteered at the S.O.U.P. Kitchen.

A funeral service will be held at 1:00 P.M. on Friday, December 2, 2022 at The Price-McElroy Funeral Home in Kenton. Burial will follow at Grove Cemetery. Friends and family may visit from 3:00 P.M. to 7:00 P.M. on Thursday, December 1, 2022 at the funeral home.

Memorial contributions can be made to the Hardin County Community Foundation, The First Reformed Church of Kenton, or Bridge Hospice of Findlay.
