Private Family Services were held for Eugene E. Good at the Dola Cemetery on Monday, November 2, 2020 with Dr. Joe Thomas officiating. The Price-McElroy Funeral Home in Kenton assisted the family with services.
Gene passed away peacefully, Thursday evening, October 29, 2020 at his rural Dunkirk home with loving family members by his side.
Gene was born March 9, 1927 in Dola to the late Edwin E. and Marguerite (Dirmeyer) Good. He married Betty Lou Cark on November 28, 1948 and they shared many blessings through their lives together until her death on April 15, 2017.
They were parents of sons; Tim (Shauna) Good of London, Ohio and Tony (Cheryl) Good of rural Dunkirk. Grandchildren: Lane (Kimberly) Good, their children, Brandon and Justin: Ashley (Brian) Wheeler, their children Crew, Georgianna, and Cashton: Judd (LeAnn) Good, their children:Braylon, Jaden, and Brooklynn, Shad (Andrea) Good, their children; Alexandra and Quinn; Drew (Melissa) Good, and their children; Tyson and Kensley. Step-granddaughter; Haylea (Derek) Weiser and their children, Lennox and Maddox. His sister, Patricia Battles of Kenton and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, brothers and sister-in-laws; Virgil (Violet) Good, Neil (Patty) Gordon and brother-in-law; Jim Battles.
Gene always looked forward to attending Sunday services at the Dola Presbyterian Church where he was a member for many years.
He was a graduate of Dola High School and a lifelong farmer. He enjoyed visiting with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
"Goody" enjoyed hunting deer and coyotes with the Dola Fox hunting group for many years. His favorite things to do were raise cattle and farm. He was able to participate in the 2020 soybean harvest before a fall in early October sidelined him. He will be missed by friends and family.
