A graveside service for Ernest "Ernie" Lee McElroy will be held at 1:30  P.M. on Monday, April 4, 2022 at the York Center Cemetery. Friends and Family may visit from 11:00 A.M. to 1:00 P.M. on Monday, April 4, 2022 at The Price-McElroy Funeral Home in Mt. Victory 
Ernie passed away at his home in Richwood, on Wednesday, March 30, 2022. He was born on June 26, 1934 in Richwood to the late Dwight and Agnes Mae (Thompson) McElroy. In 1954 he married Betty Davis and they later divorced. He then married Janet Hupp and she preceded him in death on January 17, 1990.
Surviving are his children; Connie (Denny) Wilson of Richwood, Jeff (Kendra) McElroy of Delaware, Tim McElroy of Richwood, Randy (Deb Brady) McElroy of Richwood, Robert (Teresa) McElroy of Richwood, Skip (Christine) McElroy of Marion, 13 grandchildren, 7 step-grandchildren, 44 great-grandchildren and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
He was preceded in death by his siblings; James "Red" McElroy and Wilton "Whitey"  McElroy, and Dorothea Jean "Dottie" Davis.
Ernie was a 1953 graduate of Richwood High School. He retired from B.F. Goodrich and Parker Company after over 35 years of service with perfect attendance.
He coached his sons in youth baseball and was an avid bowler in his younger years. Ernie loved to be outside, whether he was trap shooting, fishing, camping or cutting wood with his family.
Ernie was also a big sports fan. He enjoyed watching Indy Open Wheel racing, Horse Harness Racing as well as being a big OSU Football fan.
Later in his life he could often be seen walking his dog around the Richwood Park and Lake.
