There will be no services for Dwight Frater. It was his wish to be cremated. The Price-McElroy Funeral Home in Kenton is assisting the family with the arrangements.
Dwight passed away on Sunday, December 28, 2025, at his residence. He was born on March 11, 1949, in Kenton to the late Earl and Irene (Williams) Frater. Dwight married Diana Hinkle on December 20, 1969, and she preceded him in death.
Surviving are 2 daughters; Angela Frater of Dunkirk, Stefani Epling of Dunkirk, son, Venard (Marcella) Frater of Dunkirk, a brother, Keith Frater of Wharton, 7 grandchildren; Riana Johnson, Lena Johnson, Bianca Epling, Gabriel Epling, Rowan Frater, Rayne Frater, Rune Frater, 5 great grandchildren; Violet Johnson, Hunter Johnson, Ryleigh Milliron, Averie Milliron, Arietty Clark, and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by son-in-law, Bradley Epling and 3 brothers: Robert, Raymond, and Tom Frater.
Dwight graduated from Hardin Northern in 1968. After graduation he was drafted to join the US Army where he proudly served. When Dwight came home, he worked for Cooper Tire retiring after 36 years. He also farmed for many years, finally retiring in 2005.
He was a member of the Hardin County Shrine and the Dunkirk Masonic Lodge 549 where he was a 32nd Degree Mason.
Dwight loved to be outdoors. He had a lake house in Michigan where he enjoyed being in the woods, going to the lake. Most of all he loved his grandkids and visiting with neighbor's.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations in Dwight's honor may be made to the Hardin Northern Community Center.
