Doris passed away on Friday, May 8, 2026, at her residence. She was born on January 12, 1936, in Kenton to the late Arthur and Grace (Whitaker) Nichols. She married Vernon Dirmeyer on March 27, 1954, who preceded her in death on November 1, 2025.
She is survived by her son, Dale (Kathy) Dirmeyer of Dunkirk, sister, Lucille Newland of Foraker; three grandchildren, Nathan (Ginger) Dirmeyer, Yvette (Brad) Clark, and Michelle (Doug) Smith, 11 great-grandchildren, 7 great-great-grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her great-granddaughter, Holly; three sisters, Mary Lease, Pauline Weaver, Ester Young-Fagan and her brother, Carl Nichols.
Doris was a dedicated homemaker, a member of the Assembly of God Church in Dunkirk, and a 30-year volunteer for the Graceland Church Camp. She enjoyed cooking, sewing, and watching college football, but most importantly, she cherished reading her Bible.
