Memorial services for David Wayne Lotz will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Monday, May 10, 2021 at the Walnut Grove United Methodist Church in Kenton with Rev. Doug Flinn officiating. Burial at Grove Cemetery in Kenton will be private. Friends and Family may visit from 2:00 P.M. to 6:00 P.M. on Sunday, May 09, 2021 at the church. Masks will be required and Covid-19 protocols should be followed at all services. The Price-McElroy Funeral Home in Kenton is assisting the family with arrangements.
David passed away peacefully with family and friends at his side on Tuesday, April 27, 2021 at The Baptist Health Hardin Memorial Hospital in Elizabethtown, Kentucky. He was born on August 9, 1952 in Kenton to Annette (Daniels) Lotz who survives and the late Dale Lotz. He married Mary Lou Thieneman on March 16, 2013 and she survives.
Also surviving are a daughter; Tracy Lotz, a son; Mike Lotz, grandson; Milo Browne, a sister; Marcia Clark, and nieces; Monica (Antonio Gagliano) Clark, and Lindsey McKinley. He was preceded in death by his first wife Kathy Jo McKinley-Lotz and a brother-in-law; Robert McKinley.
David was a 1970 graduate of Hardin Northern High School and attended Clark State University where he obtained an associates degree.
David farmed his whole life and he was very passionate about it. He was also very passionate about giving back to the local community and serving on various committees and organizations. This included being a member of the Walnut Grove United Methodist Church of Kenton, he was a Hardin County Mason and Shrine member, on the Heritage Board of Directors, was a Hardin SWCD supervisor, on the Indian Lake Watershed Board, the Ohio No-till Council and a proud Hardin Northern FFA alumni.
