Daniel Totten Obituary

Daniel E. Totten, age 75, of Kenton passed away Thursday, May 28th, 2026, peacefully at his home with his children by his side.  He was born in Kenton, Ohio on June 15th, 1950, to the late Evelyn M. Bailey-Long and Jack L. Totten Sr.  Dan was a 1968 graduate of Kenton Senior High School.  He was drafted in 1970 to the United States Army, serving with the 1st Armored Division for 2 years in Bamberg, Germany.  After his honorable discharge from the Army, Dan returned to Kenton, Ohio and returned to his job at Ford Motor Company where he worked for 38 years.  After retiring from Ford in 2006, Dan started working as a driver for the Council on Aging, retiring in 2024.  

Dan is preceded in death by his mother, Evelyn M. Bailey-Long and his father, Jack L. Totten Sr.  Son, Keith E. Stewart.  A brother, Jack L. Totten and sister-in-law, Connie Totten and a nephew, Wesley A. Totten.  

He is survived by a daughter, Emily (Chad) Totten-West, A son, Adam Totten, Grandchildren, Phillip West, Ethan West, Makenna Webster, Landen West, Madelyn West, Bailey Totten, (Olivia Totten)and his special little buddy, great grandson, Asher Malone, Nephew, Ryan Totten and Great Nieces, Mackenzie Rhoades, Sydney Totten and Riley Totten, and Great Great Niece Paislee Rhoades.

Dan was a lifetime member of the Kenton Moose Lodge #428, a Life Member of the Degree of Service earning his Pilgrim Degree and serving as the Ohio State Moose Association Ritual Chairman, Ohio State Moose Association State Board of Directors and Governor of the Kenton Moose Lodge. He was a lifetime member of the NRA, growing up hunting, fishing and trapping in Hardin County.  He was an Eagle Scout in his youth.  

Dan was a fan of many things including beautiful women, cold beer, grilling out in the summer, working in his yard, his 1966 Mustang Convertible, music from the 60’s, Ohio State and Kenton Football, the Cincinnati Reds and Cleveland Browns.  He will be missed by many and remembered for his sense of humor.

Funeral services for Dan will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Tuesday, June 2, 2026, at The Price-McElroy Funeral Home in Kenton. Burial with military rites will follow at Dunkirk Cemetery. Friends and family may visit from 5:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M. on Monday, June 1, 2026, at the funeral home.

Memorial donations in Dan's honor may be made to Tunnels to Towers.
