Daniel King Obituary

Dan passed away on Sunday, May 31, 2026, at his residence surround by his family. He was born on October 5, 1953, to the late Orland and Mary (Conkle) King. He is survived by his wife of 39 years, Sheri (Francis) King.
Also surviving are his daughter, April (Scott) Hair of West Mansfield; three sons, Blase (Patty) King of Kenton, Lucas King of Kenton, and Gabriel (Regina) King of San Diego, California; five sisters, Diane (Leonard) Smith of Kenton, Kathy Rolla of Mayfield Heights, Ohio, Edie (Rick) Freyer of Monroe NC, Mary Ann (Tom) VanBuskirk of Kenton, and Jenny (Todd) McNutt of Kenton; and two brothers, Greg (Connie) King of Kenton and Mike (Terri) King Nottingham, Maryland. He is also survived by 9 grandchildren, 7 great-grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his son, Brian King.
Dan worked at the former King Supplies and Services and later became co-owner of Dan King Plumbing and Heating.

He had attended Immaculate Conception Church of Kenton and was a member of Our Lady of Lourdes in Ada. Dan served as Head Alter Server for many years. He took great joy in watching his children and grandchildren participate in sports and school activities.
A private family service will be held at a later date. The Price-McElroy Funeral Home in Kenton is assisting the family with the arrangements.

Memorial donations in Dan's honor may be made to Samaritan's Purse at P.O. Box 3000, Boone, NC 28607-3000.
