Funeral services for Cora Dickinson will be private. Burial will take place at Hale Cemetery in Mt. Victory. The Price-McElroy Funeral Home in Mt. Victory is assisting the family with arrangements.
Cora died on Tuesday, December 15, 2020 at the Blanchard Place in Kenton. She was born on February 23, 1941 in Bellefontaine to the late Carl Melvin and Opal (Bishop) Jenkins. On September 12, 1964 she married Larry Dickinson and he preceded her in death on April 11, 2011.
Surviving are 2 daughters; Lisa (Rick) Cox of Ridgeway, Lori (Tim) Weyent of Mt. Victory, a sister; Melva Jenkins of Clayton, OH, sister-in-law; Sharol (Duane) Sponsler of Seneca, SC, brother-in-law; Jerry (Carol) Dickinson of Cameron, MT, 5 grandchildren; Jessica (Matt) Brackman, Heather (Mike) Struble, Elizabeth (Nicko) Telidis, Christopher Weyant, Cole (Whitney) Weyant, 6 great-grandchildren; Parker, Avery, Zella, Spencer, Lane, Bryson, and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by a brother; Richard Jenkins, and her in-laws; Leon and Carolyn Dickinson.
Cora received her Bachelor's Degree of Science and Nursing, graduating Summa Cum Laude from the Ohio State University. She was an ER Nurse for a brief time before returning to school and earning her Masters Degree in Education from the University of Dayton. Cora then proceeded to teach in the Ridgemont School System for the next 35 years before retiring.
She was a member of many organizations including the Silver Star Circle, University Club, Retired Teachers Association and a member of the Mt. Victory United Methodist Church. She also volunteered at the Hardin Memorial Hospital.
Cora was a very creative and talented woman. She was a master seamstress and could play the piano.
The family would like to thank the staff of Blanchard Place and Universal Hospice for the loving care that Cora received.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Universal Home Health and Hospice or the Blanchard Place Activities Fund.
