Graveside services for Carolyn L. Halsey will be held at 11:00 AM on Saturday, September 29, 2018 at Dunkirk Cemetery with Pastor Gregg King officiating. 
She died at 4:21 AM Tuesday, September 18, 2018 at The Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center in Columbus. She was born on March 5, 1925 in Hancock Co. to the late Harold A. DeHaven and Hulda (Loveridge) DeHaven. On May 13, 1945 she married Marvin J. Halsey and he preceded her in death on February 14, 2009. 
Surviving are 3 sons; Ronald Halsey of Altoona, FL, Donald (Julie) Halsey of Cleveland, TN and Bryon (April Guthery) Halsey of Dola. 1 daughter; Deborah (Richard) Thibaut of Morral, OH. 1 sister; Anna Marie (Jim) Rodabaugh of Altoona, FL. 1 brother; Robert DeHaven of Key Haven, FL. 7 grandchildren; Kelli (Chris) Recker, Christa Cool, Bradley (Melissa) Halsey, Brett (Mandy) Halsey, Amanda (Dan) Williams, Stacy (Scott) Blizzard and Eric Davis. 2 step grandchildren; Rob (Lori) Wilson and Jodi (Matt) Newcomer. 15 great grandchildren, 3 step great grandchildren, several nieces and family friend Pam Halsey. 
She was preceded in death by her parents, sister Louella Ridgeway and brother Don DeHaven. 
Carolyn retired from Parker Hannifin (UAP) of Forest after 28 years. 
She was a member of the Grace United Methodist Church of Dunkirk and the Ladies Fellowship of the Church. 
Her family was the joy of her life, she enjoyed being a homemaker, seamstress, baker and gardener. 
Carolyn and her husband Marvin spent 20 plus winters in sunny Altoona FL. 
She was a special wife, mother, grandmother and aunt. Carolyn will be remembered as a kind and generous person who will be missed by family and friends. 
In lieu of flowers Memorials may be made to the Grace United Methodist Church of Dunkirk or the Hardin Northern Public Library.
