of Kenton

Carol Tainer, 76, of Kenton, passed away on Thursday, February 12, 2026, at her residence. She was born on October 11, 1949, in Dixfield, Maine, to the late Willard and Bernice (Grindell) Wing. On October 10, 1976, she married Carl Tainer, who survives in Kenton.

Also surviving are three sons, Eugene Knox of Kenton, Charlie Knox of Portland, Maine, and Dwight Knox of Rumford, Maine;  daughter, Judy (Doug Bridenstine) Warmbrod of Upper Sandusky; a sister, Ethelyn Phillips of Northfield, New Hampshire; nine grandchildren, Jenna (Brandon) Lewis, Megan Hites, Robby Warmbrod, Alyssa Knox, Malachi Knox, Gena Elliott, Braden Scott, William Heilman, and Tara Harris; 11 great-grandchildren; and several nieces, nephews, and special friend, Nina Hildreth.

She was preceded in death by a daughter, Debbie Knox; a grandson, Christopher Knox; a brother, Willard Wing Jr.; sister, Alice Wing; and a brother-in-law, Bob Phillips.

Carol attended Faith Baptist Church in Kenton. While living in Maine, she was a member of the Eagles. She enjoyed attending the Council on Aging in Kenton, visiting yard sales, and collecting jewelry. Above all, she adored her great-grandchildren.

Per Carol’s wishes, she will be cremated and there will be no services. The Price-McElroy Funeral Home in Kenton is assisting the family with arrangements.
