Funeral services for Joanne Pifer will be held at 11:00AM Wednesday, February 14, 2018 at Price - McElroy Funeral Home in Kenton with Pastor Scott Johnson officiating. Burial will follow at Grove Cemetery. Friends may call from 5:00pm - 7:00pm Tuesday, February 13, 2018 at the funeral home.
She passed away at 5:24 P.M. on Saturday, February 10, 2018 at the Blanchard Place. She was an only child born on April 25, 1932 in Kenton to the late Vernon D. & Mildred E. (Smith) Holycross. On November 11, 1951 she married Gene C. Pifer and he preceded her in death October 31, 2008.
Surviving children are a son, Craig E. Pifer and a daughter, Dana Jolene McClure of Kenton, 5 grandchildren; Derrick Bordner, Kylee Thacker, Jeray, Tiffany and Bridget Pifer, 11 great grandchildren. Sister in laws; Lois A Moore and Linda Pifer and many nieces and nephews who will miss their aunt "Nant".
Gene and Joanne lost their son Jeffry C. Pifer on April 8, 2000. 
Joanne retired from Huntington National Bank in 1987 and Hardin Memorial Hospital in 1997. She was a member of Epworth Methodist Church and an avid bowler of 30 years. Joanne was known for her neat appearance as well as her striking silver hair and beautiful smile. She was a caregiver to her husband for years as he battled Kidney disease, but she still smiled and put her family first with her selfless acts of kindness. Her beauty, smile, touch, humor and beautiful soul will be dearly missed by those who knew her. 
Memorials may be made to Bridge Hospice, St. Judes Children's Hospital or The Parkinson's foundation.
