Private graveside services for Bernard E. Williams will be held on Monday, April 16, 2018 at Otterbein Cemetery, with Pastor Cal Waugh officiating.
He died at 7:40 am Friday, April 13, 2018 at Kenton Nursing & Rehab. He was born on June 17, 1921 in Hardin County to the late Samuel and Ida (Seiler) Williams. On April 21, 1946 he married Virginia Kelly and she survives in Kenton.
Surviving are 2 sons, Douglas (Jane Baker) Williams of Kenton and Terry (Peggy) Williams of Kenton; 3 grandsons, Brian Williams, Eric Williams, and Jason (Tammy) Williams; and 2 great grandsons, Blaize and Ace Williams.
He was preceded in death by a sister Vivian Harvey.
Bernard was a farmer and was inducted into the Hardin County Agriculture Hall of Fame. He graduated from Mt. Victory High School with the class of 1938.
He was a Veteran of WWII serving with the 7th Airdrome Squadron for 39 months with 30 months spent in the South Pacific, New Guinea, and Guadalcanal. His military occupation was airplane armorer.
He was a member of Otterbein Church, Painter Creek Grange, and a former member of the Ridgemont School Board. He was chairman of Ohio State Rural Electric from 1988-1990 and also served as a trustee for United Rural Electric.
