Bernard "Bear" Gerlach 73
of Kenton
A graveside service for Bernard "Bear" Gerlach will be held on Friday, September 8, 2023 at Grove Cemetery in Kenton. Friends and family may visit from 4:00 P.M. to 7:00 P.M. on Thursday, September 7, 2023 at The Price-McElroy Funeral Home in Kenton. The family has asked that everyone please dress casually.
Bernard died on Sunday, September 3, 2023 at Kenton Nursing and Rehab. He was born on February 23, 1950 in Kenton to the late Ernest and Margery (Davis) Gerlach. On September 22, 1982 he married Susan Davey and she survives in Kenton.
Also surviving are his daughter; Jamie (Scott) Barnes of Kenton, a granddaughter; Courtney Barnes, a sister-in-law; Wanda Gerlach of Kenton and 2 nephews; Ryan and Steve Gerlach.
He was preceded in death by a brother; Ronald Gerlach.
Bernard was a 1968 graduate of Hardin Northern High School where he participated in FFA. After high school he attended a mechanics school in Gatlinburg, Tennessee. Bernard farmed his entire life and would also work on farming equipment. In his free time, he enjoyed fishing and growing vegetables in his garden.
Memorial donations in Bernard's honor may be made to the Hardin Northern High School FFA.
