Arthur Bingham Jr. Obituary

Arthur Bingham, Jr., born on August 25, 1942, in Corbin, Kentucky, the son of the late Arthur Bingham Sr. and Pherbia Susan Bingham (née Faulkner), went home to be with the Lord on Tuesday, July 22, 2025.

He is survived by his loving wife, Charlene Mays Bingham, and his three daughters: Kimberly Susan Farrell, Karen Mae Mikesell, and Katrina Charlene Kitchen. He was a proud grandfather to Zacheriah Joseph Hartley, Dane Lawrence Farrell, Benjamin David Kitchen, Makayla Mae VanVoorhis, Hannah Grace Nink, and Arthur James Kitchen, and a great-grandfather to Weston Brooks Hartley, Lukas James VanVoorhis, Declan Arthur Hartley, Lillia Charlene Nink, and Thomas James Kitchen. As well as his extended family, Patty Riley, David Morgan, and Christine “Susie” Rose.

Arthur graduated from DuPont Manual High School in Louisville, Kentucky, and served in the Kentucky Air National Guard from 1960 to 1966. He began his career as a train engineer with the B&O Railroad, where he worked for ten years. In 1970, he answered a call to ministry and went on to study at Clear Creek Baptist Bible College in Pineville, Kentucky, graduating in 1976.

His ministry began at Gethsemane Baptist Church in Dayton, Ohio. In 1979, he was appointed by the North American Mission Board of the Southern Baptist Convention and became the pastor/director of the Darty F. Stowe Baptist Center in Columbus, Ohio. There, he served for over 25 years as pastor of the congregation, developing ministries that extended beyond Sunday services — meeting both the spiritual and physical needs of the community throughout the week. In his later years, Arthur continued to serve as an intentional interim pastor throughout Ohio and Hawaii.

Arthur was a member of First Baptist Church of Kenton, Ohio, and found great joy in time spent with his grandchildren, working in his garden, attending auctions, and visiting fairs.

Above all, Arthur's life was devoted to loving the Lord and sharing that love with everyone he met.

A Celebration of Life Service will be held on Saturday, August 30, 2025, at 11:00 A.M. at the First Baptist Church in Kenton located at 11543 Co Road 175, Kenton, Ohio, 43326. The Price-McElroy Funeral Home is assisting the family with the arrangements.
