Graveside services for Alice Pauline "Polly" Gerlach will be held at 2:00 P.M., Monday, July 23, 2018 at Grove Cemetery with Rev. Dr. Randall J. Forester officiating. Friends may call from 1:00 P.M. to 3:00 P.M on Sunday, July 22, 2018 at The Price-McElroy Funeral Home in Kenton.

She died at 7:43 pm Monday, July 16, 2018 at St. Rita's Medical Center. She was born on August 05, 1932 in Vigo, Ohio to the late Charles E. and Clarice V. (Burke) Hart. On December 22, 1956 she married Charles W. Gerlach, who survives.

In addition to her husband survivors include son, Charles "Chuck" L. Gerlach of Kenton; daughter Joy (Mark) Van Horn of Kenton; grandchildren, Alice Virginia Gerlach of Portland, OR, Amanda Van Horn of Kenton, and Andrew Van Horn of Kenton; and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by sister, Doris Corcoran, brothers, Charles Hart and Richard K. Hart; and a grandson William E. Van Horn.

Polly graduated from Chillicothe Zane Trace High School in 1950 and Wilmington College in 1954, with a bachelor's degree in health and physical education. She taught at Kenton Senior High School and The Ellis Building Jr. High from 1954 to 1960. She left education to raise Chuck and Joy. She enjoyed working beside her husband Charles W. with the daily chores of the dairy farm, which they ran through 2003. Polly loved to cook and bake and was a member of St. John's Evangelical Church.
