Funeral services for Richard D. Barrett will be held at 10:00 A.M. Saturday, September 21, 2019 at The Price - McElroy Funeral Home in Kenton. Burial will follow in Grove Cemetery. Friends and family may visit from 3:00 P.M. till 7:00 P.M. on Friday, September 20, 2019 at the funeral home. 

He died on Tuesday, September 17, 2019 at Madison Health Hospital in London, OH. He was born on January 18, 1967 in Kenton to the late Herbert and Wanda (Boecher) Barrett. On August 10, 1993 he married Nancy Couch and she survives in Kenton. 

Also surviving are 1 daughter; Brandi (Quency Vos) Barrett of Ames, Iowa. 2 sons; Christopher (Rebekah) Crowell of Alliance, OH, William Barrett of Kenton. 1 brother; Rodney (Shirley) Barrett of Kenton. 4 Grandchildren; Kael, Enoch, Tallon and Hartley. He is also survived by his best friend, his dog; Hayes.

He was preceded in death by 1 brother; Tommy Barrett.

Richard was a 1985 Kenton High School graduate. He then attended ATI in Wooster, OH, where he studied Agricultural Mechanics. He was employed with Krone of North America.

Agriculture and the agriculture community were very important to Richard. He was very active in FFA growing up, receiving his state degree. Richard was also a member of the Hardin County Farm Bureau, where he held various offices over the course of many years.

Richard loved to shoot and collect guns. He was passionate about his 2nd Amendment, so much so he became a life member of the NRA. He also was a registered member of the Hardin County Republican Party and would help with campaigning. 

Richard enjoyed working in his shop, especially working on his cars. He was a die hard FORD man, and made that well known.

The family is requesting for Richards friends and family to send them stories or memories for them to cherish. They can be sent to the house or to the funeral home.
