He died Thursday, September 27, 2018 at his residence. He was born on July 5, 1925 in Marion to the late Russell and Carrie (Martin) France. On October 31, 1946 he married Virginia A. Cramer and she preceded him in death on August 13, 2000.
Surviving are a daughter; Chris (Steve) Baker of Kenton, 3 sons; Kenneth (Cheryl) France of Mt. Victory, Kevin France of Mt. Victory and Jeff France of Tok, Alaska, 2 sisters; Ilene Baldwin of Kenton, and Tootie Scott of Kenton. 6 Grandchildren; Jeremy (Vanessa) France, Brandon (Mandy) France, Theron (Mindy) France, Morgan (Adam) Van Buskirk, Mallory Barker and Logan Barker 6 Great-Grandchildren; Mara France, Aleah France, Cara France, Alexandra France, Lianna France and Kaela France, numerous nieces and nephews and a special nephew; Dave Rumer.
He was preceded in death by a son; Gary B. France, 6 sisters; Pauline France, Mabel Martin, Lelia Canter, Mildred Hoge, Gladys Edmiston and Ruth Rumer, 3 brothers; Cecil France, Denver France and Chester France.
He was a U.S. Army Veteran, serving as a paratrooper in WWII.
Ralph worked for Rockwell for 31 years until he retired.
He was a member of the Ridgeway Church of Christ, and a former board member of Ridgemont Schools and Hardin Memorial Hospital, even serving as president for both boards.
As Ralph got older he would spend his winters in Florida, and enjoyed taking care of his yard, growing flowers and gardening.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Ridgeway Church of Christ.
