Funeral services for Gertrude "Gertie" C. Fraber will be held at 11:30AM Saturday, June 1, 2019 at the First Church of God in Ridgeway with Pastor Tim Kohl and Corey Bailey officiating. Friends and family may visit from 10:30AM until the time of the service on Saturday.
She died on Monday, May 27, 2019 at her residence. She was born on December 24, 1937 in Glouster, Ohio to the late Loren Phillips and Ida Mae (Jewell) Stoneburner. On March 21, 1958 she married Gerald "Jerry" Fraber and he survives in Mt. Victory.
Also surviving are 4 daughters; Kris (Merlin) Poe of Findlay, Dolores (Jon) Jenkins of Zanesfield, Elizabeth "Libby" (Todd) Gray of Groveport and Heidi (Devin) Jones of Delaware. 2 sons; Michael "Tony" (Susan) Fraber of Bellefontaine and Hans (Kimberly) Fraber of Perrysburg. 1 sister; Sharon Fairclough of Lancaster. 2 brothers; David (Judy) Phillips of Carroll, OH and Ralph (Marie) Phillips of Fayetteville, NC. 13 Grandchildren, and 10 Great Grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by 2 brothers; Darrell Phillips and William Phillips. 1 sisters; Sharma Weedy and a great granddaughter Tiana.
Gertie was a member of the First Church of God in Ridgeway where she was very active and a former member of Mt. Victory United Methodist Church.
She founded God's Lifeline and Thrift Shop was a member of the Mt. Victory Garden Club and Mt. Victory Book Club.
She was a former Girl Scout Leader, 4-H advisor and a former board member of the Memorial Park Golf Course where she was in the ladies Golf League.
She coached girls softball team which she started.
Gertie loved the Lord and served him by serving others.
She was known as the pie lady and was a huge Ohio State Buckeye fan .
In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to the First Church of God in Ridgeway or to the God's Lifeline and Thrift Shop.
