Violet Mae (Casper) Good, 89, died Friday, July 8, 2016 with her family by her side at Blanchard Place in Kenton. Visitation will be at The Price-McElroy Funeral Home in Kenton from 3-7 on Tuesday, July 12, 2016. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 A.M. Wednesday at St. John's Lutheran Church in Dola with Pastor Steve Ramsey officiating. Internment will follow at Dola Cemetery, then followed by a lunch for family and close friends will be held at the church.
Violet was born in rural Hardin County near Dola on December 10, 1926, to the late John N. and Elizabeth (Hartman) Casper. She married Virgil Lee Good on December 14, 1944. a marriage that would last for 71 years. He preceded her n death on April 1, 2015. She was his constant companion and loving care-giver during often difficult times in the last ten years of his life.
Violet was a true homemaker. She was a devoted mother and farm wife who often rolled up her sleeves and worked whenever it was needed. She was a life-long member of St. John's Lutheran Church; a long-serving member of the Hardin County Ohio Farm Bureau; and served Gideon's International for 29 years. She was actively involved as a faithful servant of her church and served as a volunteer for numerous organizations in the Dola/Dunkirk community, including working for many years in the Hardin Northern Band Boosters food booth at the Hardin County Fair.
Violet also enjoyed the fellowship volunteers who sang and entertained residents of the Good Samaritan Home in Arlington for may years. She was always willing to share her time, talents, resources, compassion and good cheer for those in need.
Surviving are 6 children, daughters; Linda (David) Kahler of Sunbury, Connie (Wayne) Thomas of Bowling Green, Judy (Dave) Worstein of Kansas, Ohio; Jill (Wayne) Neal of Pandora; and sons; Arden (Becky) Good of Dola, and Max (Jeani) Good of Lewis Center, 16 grandchildren, 26 great-grandchildren, brothers-in-law; Eugene (Betty Lou) Good of Dunkirk, Neil (Patty) Good of Dola and sisters-in-law; Patricia Battles of Kenton and Elwanda Casper of Ada.
She was preceded in death by 2 brothers; Paul and Ava Casper; brothers-in-law Gordon Good, Jim Battles and sister-in-law; Hazel Casper.
She will be missed by her many friends and family members, who take comfort in knowing that God has reserved a special place for her in His heavenly kingdom.
Memorial donations may be made to Gideon's International or St. John's Lutheran Church of Dola.
