Due to Ronald's wishes, he will be cremated and services will be held at a later date. Price-McElroy Funeral Home in Kenton is handling the arrangements.
He died at 1:30 P.M. on Monday, April 25, 2016 at Kenton Nursing and Rehab. He was born January 7, 1959 in Kenton to the late Clyde and Lavonda (Baker) Schertzer.
Surviving are 2 daughters; Brandy Smith of Kenton, Tiffany (Ryan) Black of Ridgeway, a son; Micah Schertzer of Kenton, a sister; Velinda K. Mathews of Dublin, 5 grandchildren; Mason Smith, Ava Reffitt, Emma Black, Claire Black, Alex Houston, a niece; Teresa Dyer, and 2 nephews; J.T. Mathews and Aaron VanDerVeer.
Dean was a 1977 graduate of Ridgemont High School and a welder for McCullough industries. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and anything to do with motorcycles. He will be deeply missed especially by his sister.
Memorial donations may be made to Hardin County Hospice.
