Services for Robert Rainbolt for Tuesday, September 27 2016 have been cancelled. Friends may call on Monday, September 26, 2016 from 5:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M. at The Price-McElroy Funeral Home in Kenton. Burial will follow at a later date in the Beyers-Rainbolt Cemetery in Popcorn, Indiana.
He died at 5:54 A.M. Friday, September 23, 2016 at the Riverside Methodist Hospital in Columbus. He was born on June 25, 1941 in Popcorn, Indiana to the late Ivan and Zelma Melinda (Godsey) Rainbolt. On May 24, 1973 he married Bonnie Shank and she survives in Kenton.
Also surviving are 3 daughters; Amy (Dan) Stratton of Queen Creek, AZ, Lisa (Scott) Gilbert of Johnstown, PA, Jenee (Russell) Carr of Delaware, OH, 2 sons; David (Kathy) Taylor of Indianapolis, IN, Ivan (Varina) Rainbolt of Townsend, TN, 2 sister-in-laws; Joyce Coomer of Solsberry, IN, Connie Rainbolt of Oolitic, IN, a great-aunt; Alma Godsey of Bedford, IN, 17 grandchildren, 5 great-grandchildren several nephews and one special niece.
He was preceded in death by 2 brothers; Ivan Dale Rainbolt, and James Alfred Rainbolt.
Robert retired from IP in Kenton in 2007.

He was a chairman of the Kenton Tree Commission, A board member of the Council of Hardin County Housing Authority, and served as a poll worker for the board of elections. He also was very active in The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints in Marion, where he served in many different auxiliary positions.
He enjoyed gardening, collecting old tools, and spending time with his family.
