Funeral services for Robert W. Brueshaber will be held at 12:00 P.M. noon, Friday, June 17, 2016 at The Price-McElroy Funeral Home in Kenton with Mike Armentrout officiating. Burial with military rites will follow at Grove Cemetery. Friends may call 2 hours prior to services.
Robert passed away at 8:49 A.M. Tuesday June 14, 2016 at Greenhill Community Center in West Liberty, Ohio. Born and raised in Tontogany, Wood County, Ohio, the son of the late Walter and Mary (Masztan) Brueshaber, he leaves his wife of 66 years, Amy Grace (Sprang) Brueshaber, two brothers; George (Mary) Brueshaber, Micheal (Marcia Nye) Brueshaber, his four children; Daniel (Brenda) Brueshaber, Kenneth (Karen) Brueshaber, Larry Brueshaber and Patricia (Ed) Snyder along with 6 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren.
Robert was preceded in death by his sister Teresa Gibson who died on November 05, 1986.
Mr. Brueshaber enlisted in the United States Navy during the height of World War II in 1943. His enlistment expired two years later in 1945 after which he gained employment with the Koerber Brewing Company in Toledo, Ohio where he would remain for the next four years.
In January 1949 he met his future wife, Amy Grace Sprang and on June 18, 1949 were married at her parents' home; the late Fred and Amy (Holmes) Sprang. After their wedding, they moved to Kenton, where he farmed and eventually took the position of Hardin County Dog Warden and a school bus driver for the Kenton City School System which he held until his retirement in 1998.
During his lifetime, Robert held several positions in his church, the American Legion and the Ohio Dog Warden's Association.
In his free time, he enjoyed camping with family and friends. He was able to travel to all the states except Hawaii and was even able to make a couple trips to Germany.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to First Christian Church, 340 N. Main St. Kenton, Ohio 43326.
