Funeral services for Mary Isabel Mulligan will be held at 11:00 A.M. Thursday, May 25, 2017 at The Price-McElroy Funeral Home in Kenton with Pastor Willis Moe officiating. Burial will follow at Grove Cemetery. Friends may call from 4:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M. on Wednesday, May 24, 2017.
She died at 3:30 P.M. Sunday, May 21, 2017 at Kenton Nursing and Rehab. She was born on February 24, 1934 in Hardin County to the late Roy and Clarabel (Jones) Byrd.
In 1949 she married Earl Irvin Woodruff II, and he died in a farming accident on August 10, 1957. She then married John Mulligan on September 5, 1964 and he preceded her in death on Jan 29, 1997.
Surviving are a son; Earl (Anita) Woodruff III of Pataskala, 3 daughters; Barbara (John) Harshfield of Kenton, Kay (Dan) Jones of Richwood, Lynn (Bill) Meyer of Ocala, Florida, 9 grandchildren; Mary (Mitch) Walls, Steve (Judy) Rogers, Tammy Minter, Scott ( Jen) Rowland, Ken (Nikki) Marvin, Jaime Marvin, Adam (Andi) Woodruff, Kyle Meyer, Amber (Kyle) Stopczynski, 18 great-grandchildren, 12 great-great-grandchildren, a sister; Helen Burke-Knapp of Lima and numerous cousins, nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by 3 sisters; Juanita Whaley, Norma McMillen, and Judy Craig.
Mary worked for North Electric for 20 years but retired to become a homemaker when she had her children.
She enjoyed sewing, and would make clothing and quilts for everyone in the family. She also did needle work and would make Christmas ornaments for everyone in the family, every Christmas. Mary also enjoyed gardening and taking care of her flowers.
