Graveside services with military rites for Lynn Elsasser will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Saturday, August 6, 2016 at Hale Cemetery in Mt. Victory. A Celebration of Life luncheon will follow at the family home.
Lynn died at 10:30 P.M. Tuesday, July 26, 2016 at the V.A. Medical Center in Dayton. He was born January 3, 1946 in Kenton to the late Harold and Irene (Copp) Elsasser. On June 25, 1972 he married Judi Risser and she survives in Ridgeway.
Also surviving are a daughter; Lyndsey (Lucas) Braun of Raymond, 2 sons; Devin (Erica) Elsasser of Ridgeway, Anthony (Katie) Elsasser of Belle Center, 5 grandchildren; Loryn Elsasser, Laney Elsasser, Gabriel Elsasser, Liam Elsasser, and Bodhi Braun. Also surviving are a brother; Harry Elsasser of Ridgeway, 2 sisters; Nancy Terrill of Ridgeway, Noralee (Jimmy) Willoughby of Dyersberg, TN, and a sister-in-law Marianna Elsasser of Kenton. Also surviving is one brother-in-law; David Risser of Morral, 6 sisters-in-law; Rebecca (Ron) Black of Kenton, Donna (Clyde) Swavel of Morral, Flo Collins of Upper Sandusky, Louise Swavel of Mt Vernon,TX and Joanna Harris of Bluffton, as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by a brother; Chris Elsasser, brother-in-law, Robert Terrill and sister-in-law Deb Elsasser. Also preceding him in death are brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law; Richard Harris, John and Barbara Finn, Eleanor and Jere Winegardner and mother and father--in-law; Harry and Ruth Risser.
He was a member of the Mt Victory United Methodist Church, the Hardin County Vietnam Veterans Club and Rushcreek Sportsman Club. He served in the Army and was a proud Vietnam Veteran.
Lynn was a farmer and carpenter, who enjoyed wood working and making his own homemade wine. He also enjoyed riding his motorcycle, and taking gator rides with his dog, Desi. He always looked forward to the Belle Center fireworks and the Hardin County Fair. His true joy and love were his family and friends and being able to spend time with them. He will be dearly missed.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Rushcreek Sportsman's Club, Mt. Victory United Methodist Church or the donor's choice.
